It might seem like an unlikely place to stage a meeting of freedom fighters, but a quiet Christchurch cafe has found itself at the centre of a social media spat after the owner cancelled a booking by political firebrand Billy Te Kahika.
Te Kahika, who, according to RNZ, has said Covid-19 is no more fatal than the winter flu, was hoping to stage talks at The Birdwood in Beckenham. However, when word spread around the community, locals aired their opposition.
