Sixteen months later, Manchester City has finally found a replacement for long-time captain Vincent Kompany.
Portugal international Rúben Dias was on the verge of joining City from Benfica on Monday, with the Portuguese team saying the centre-back was moving for a fee of 68 million euros ($120 million).
In return, Benfica said, Nicolás Otamendi would be joining the club from City for 15 million euros ($26.6 million).

Premier League leaders Everton slumped to their first defeat of the season and lost Lucas Digne to a second-half red card as Danny Ings inspired Southampton to a 2-0 win at St Mary’s Stadium on Sunday (Monday NZT).
Ings is Southampton’s top scorer this season but he turned provider against Everton, setting up James Ward-Prowse’s 27th-minute opener with a delicate through-ball and then crossing to the far post for strike partner Che Adams to score a deflected finish in the 35th minute.

Scott McLaughlin has crashed out of his IndyCar debut at the Firestone Grand Prix of St. Petersburg this morning.
Having qualified 21st of 24 starters, McLaughlin impressed through the first half of the 100-lap street race to be running 16th at the time of a lap 47 restart.
Thats when things came unstuck however, as McLaughlin made light contact with Marco Andretti and subsequently spun into the path of Rinus VeeKay.
Damage from the incident put McLaughlin out of the race.
