It’s not your average day in the office for Megan Whitehead today as she attempts to break a shearing record in a woolshed near Gore.

A shearing record attempt is under way in a woolshed near Gore.
Its an early start for shearer Megan Whitehead, who hit the board at 5am for what will be a gruelling day as she attempts to break the solo womens nine-hours strongwool lamb shearing record of 648, (72 an hour) set in November 2007 by Waikato shearer Emily Welch.
Ahead of the attempt, Whitehead told Stuff while she was nervous, she was also quite excited.
