Three weather systems moving up and down the country are bringing a mixed bag of rain, snow, and thunder – and warm but also cold temperatures.

Three weather systems moving up and down the country are creating a mixed forecast to start the week.
In the South Island, two cold fronts are sweeping up on Monday and Tuesday bringing snow showers, frost, rain, and freezing temperatures. Meanwhile, for western parts of the North Island, a heavy rain band with possible thunderstorms, strong wind gusts and a warm air mass is causing temperatures to rise above average.
Theres a lot going on, said MetService meteorologist Dan Corrigan.
